Acupuncture is a registered profession in Australia. Jess is a registered acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner with AHPRA and AACMA.

The practice involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow (Qi) and promote natural healing processes.

Acupuncture may assist in addressing a variety of conditions, including the management of musculoskeletal pain, chronic pain, stress and anxiety. It may provide  assistance with alleviating digestive issues and some auto-immune conditions. 

Acupuncture may also assist with alleviating pregnancy related concerns such as musculoskeletal pain, nausea and vomiting.

Acupuncture is generally painless with most people experiencing a mild sensation or no discomfort at all. 

Acupuncture may cause slight bruising or temporary soreness at the needle insertion sites. Further detail regarding potential side effects will be discussed at your first appointment. 

The number of sessions needed varies based on the the patients individual health concerns and responsiveness to treatment. Whilst some patients experience relief after their first session, a series of sessions is most often needed for more chronic conditions. This will be discussed at your first appointment where a personalised treatment plan will be tailored to your specific needs. 

Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Loose, comfortable and breathable clothing is best, particularly items of clothing that can allow access to the elbows and knees. 

AcuDen is a registered AACMA member. Claiming private health insurance for acupuncture varies depending on your provider. If you are unsure, please check your level of private health cover with your provider prior to your first appointment.
