Electroacupuncture combines traditional acupuncture with low-frequency electrical stimulation applied through selected acupuncture needles. At AcuDen, needle placement may include specific acupuncture points and motor points, depending on your presentation and treatment goals.
The gentle electrical stimulation provides an additional sensory and muscular input to the treatment. It may be used to support pain modulation, reduce muscle tension and influence neuromuscular activity.
Motor point stimulation can be incorporated where appropriate to target specific muscles and support functional movement. Treatment is individualised, with needle placement and stimulation adjusted according to your needs and response.
